Margaret France
was raised in scenic Yakima, WA. Growing up in a town that
called itself “the Palm Springs of Washington” encouraged
Margaret to develop a sense of humor from an early age.
Anxious to break free of the hustle and bustle of a city of
almost 70,000 people, Margaret left Yakima to attend a
college in rural Iowa.
Since then, her high spirits and facility with her native
language have given her opportunities to entertain and
enlighten audiences throughout the world, from karaoke
hosting in Idaho to singing Carpenters covers in Japan. Her
act draws on her experiences as the smart, saucy
lesbian-next-door in a wide variety of contexts. While
living in Bordeaux, France, Margaret started producing and
performing in her own variety shows. After relocating to
the San Francisco Bay Area, Margaret has become a variety
show unto herself by including singing and awkward dancing
in her act. Margaret can drop a one-liner or do the Cabbage
Patch in a bunny costume without sacrificing the sincerity
and down-to-earth delivery that makes her comedy both
really ridiculous and ridiculously real.
